Finding Data
The blue buttons on the left of the screen give access to the data. Use the Back arrow at the top left hand corner
of the screen to retrace your steps and return to the opening screen.
Individual School Data contains the data held on each school. This includes attendance data, end of Key Stage
performance data, school context data and the school's PANDA report. Also included are advisers' notes of visit.
This area of the database is password protected
School Comparative Data contains spreadsheets that enable the performance of all schools or a group of schools to be compared.
This area of the database is password protected
LEA Data contains reports at an LEA level. Reports include parent and school satisfaction surveys, LEA performance reports
(including the DfES school performance tables for Birmingham), the annual Comprehensive Performance Assessment scorecard, the LEA
PANDA and OfSTED Form 4 with comparisons with other LEA
Ward and Area data contains education performance and context data for each of the City's Wards and other geographical areas of the City.
The Schools Directory gives contact details for each school and a location map.
Useful Links gives access to other relevant national websites such as OfSTED, DfES, QCA and other BGFL web pages such as Excellence in Cities.

Opening and Closing Reports
To open a report, double click on the year next to the report (the years highlighted in blue have data entered).
If prompted to ‘Enable Macros’ click on ‘Yes’ or ‘Enable Macros’. To close a report after you have viewed it;
click on the X in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If the following message appears ‘This document has been
modified, do you want to save the changes’ then click on No.
Use the "Back" button in the top left hand corner of the screen to return to the menu.

The following reports have to download to your computer to view. This will happen automatically if you click on Open when prompted.

The Performance Tables (DfES) in LEA Data are links to the DfES website. To exit the DfES website click on the X in the top right-hand corner of the screen (not the "Back" button).
Trouble Shooting
If you have reports that do not work as expected e.g. buttons don't work or the report says 'macros have been disabled'.
Please check your Excel Macro security settings are at 'Medium', you can check this by opening Excel then going to Tools>Macros>Security and changing the setting to Medium. Click on OK to close this window, the database should now work.
If you cannot log in AND you cannot access any LEA level data.
Please check that your Internet Explorer security settings are at 'Medium', you can check this by opening Internet Explorer then going to Tools>Internet Options>Security then click on the Custom Level button, in the window that appears change the setting near the bottom of the window to Medium then press Reset. Click on OK to close each window, the database should now work.
